    Parleys Desktop Application

    Parleys Desktop Application

Parleys is a software suite and hosting site that allows you to incoporate video/audio with PowerPoint slides.... this has been done before.  What is new and worthwhile here is that you can tag and comment on the presentations while they are playing and follow up users can read your tags and comments.

Parleys most likely will work well in the asynchronous online classrooms because it mimics a lecture and allows feedback, questions, comments, etc... exactly where they would appear in the lecture.  The program itself is also featured filled with layout configurations.

    Currently in Beta.

Link to  an example of hosting: Comparing Java Web Frameworks

Embedded example, not as featured filled:

    1000's of E-Learning Tools

    1000's of E-Learning Tools

Through a connection I made on Twitter I have been sharing tweets with a group of individuals working or interested in instructional design. The primary person in this group has her own website and connected through it she has 1000's of useful tools for e-learning.  She has nicely sorted all the tools into categories and you will probably learn a thing or two about types of tools and what they are called.

    Categories include:
    • Tools for creating, delivering and managing learning and performance support solutions
    • Tools for managing your own learning and productivity, for sharing resources, as well as group collaboration
50 or 60 subcategories exist under the main two categories.

    Curriculum Mapping

Here is a site that could help you curriculum map your programs to enhance their connectivity.

    Web 2.0 and Education Article

Great article and discussion on Web 2.0 and its real cost and power in education.

    Youtube EDU

Youtube recently launched thier education section.  This section sorts videos based on colleges and allows you to see what is the most popular.  It is a start and should be interesting and something to check on as it continues to grow.  I personally like the directory listen so I can see which colleges are participating and how much show.  This also could be a great resource for online courses and to supplement curriculum
